Q: What are the advantages to choosing Momentum Builders over other local home construction contractors?

A: We are a dynamic young team with lots of innovative ideas and the energy and imagination to implement them. We can help you create a living space that meets all of your needs.

Q: How can remodeling or renovating my home save energy or money?

A: These improvements will increase the efficiency of your home wall systems and insulation. We can also help you update your appliances and heating and cooling systems which will allow you to have more control over your air quality.

Q: How far outside of Ithaca are you willing to travel for a home construction or  home building project?

A:  Though we are based in Ithaca, New York, we consider ourselves a regional company. Our geographical area includes, but isn’t limited to, Finger Lakes communities like Watkins Glen, Hector, and Geneva on Seneca Lake, Trumansburg, Ithaca, and Aurora on Cayuga Lake, Canandaigua, and Skaneateles. We are also willing to consider areas such as Seneca Falls, Owego, and
Corning/Horseheads/Painted Post.

Q: What does a typical “eco-friendly” or “green home” look like?

A: Most of our eco-friendly homes are designed to look “normal” and will appeal to
a wide range of people. If you prefer to design a green home that has a unique look to it, of course we can do that too.

Q: If I am building my own home, do I need to have a set of plans/blueprints of can Momentum Builders help me design it?

A: You will need a set of plans or blueprints before you can start construction. We can help walk you through the process, decide what home features are important to you, and then refer you to some appropriate architects. We can begin our relationship with you at any stage of the process, with or without plans.

Q: May I see other projects like mine that you have completed? Do you have references?

A: We are happy to share images from our past projects with you. We can also provide you with plenty of references and testimonials from past clients.

Q: Can my life go on normally while my house is under construction?

A: We take great care to try to minimize our impact on your day to day lives. However, there are times when what we need to do may be noisy or dusty. We can talk about this in advance of beginning the project so that we disrupt you as little as possible.

Q: Do you have a payment schedule? Is an initial deposit required to begin?

A: We require an initial deposit from all of our clients. We will work with you to develop a payment schedule that works for both you and for us. We now offer clients the option of making payments online through PayPal.

Q: Are you insured? How about other members of your construction team?

A: We carry full liability insurance and Workers Compensation and we review our policies on a regular basis. We will gladly provide you with copies of all of these documents prior to beginning your project.

Q: How long will you guarantee your work for?

A: We stand behind everything that we build. All materials that offer warranties are installed according to the manufacturer. You may feel free to call us as any time with a concern and we will try to help you find a solution to it.
